Murabbi Video Series – Episode 2 | A Whole-Person Vision for Our Children

11 February 2026

We are pleased to share Episode 2 of the Murabbi Video Series featuring Professor Mohamad Abdalla, in collaboration with Al Siraat College.

Murabbi Video Series – Episode 2 | A Whole-Person Vision for Our Children

In this episode, Professor Abdalla unpacks the deeper meaning of Tarbiyah as a purposeful, nurturing, and lifelong process that goes far beyond the transmission of information. Tarbiyah is about forming the whole human being, spiritually, morally, emotionally, intellectually, and socially, in harmony with the child’s natural disposition (fitrah).

Key reflections from the episode include:

  • Education in Islam begins with purpose: knowing Allah and living in worship of Him.
  • Tarbiyah integrates Ta’lim (teaching/learning), Tadris (instructional practice), Ta’dib (adab and ethical formation), and Tazkiyah (purification of the soul) within one coherent vision of human formation.
  • Teachers are not only instructors, but Murabbis who nurture through example, presence, and integrity.
  • Parents remain the first and primary partners in Tarbiyah — schooling supports Tarbiyah but does not replace it.
  • Students are active moral agents, responsible for their own growth and transformation.
